If you’re in the market for cleansing drinks that help detox your system, then you, literally, have an endless supply available to you. With the internet, you have access to dozens, upon dozens, of recipes for homemade detox drinks.

The next cleansing drink you can add to the list are fresh juices. These drinks require a juicer to turn your whole food into actual juice. Juicing is awesome, but it can be expensive; and it’s not as nutritious as a smoothie. Another cleansing drink is tea. There a number of teas available; way too many for me to cover here in this article. I’m also not a big fan of brewed tea, which is why I can only name a few off the top of my head, like Earl’s Grey, and Green tea – my two staples. A blend of green whole foods, mixed into one, tummy-filling drink that will keep you satisfied for at least two hours before the hunger pangs kick in.

All other smoothies are a mixture of whatever you want them to be. You can have all-fruit smoothies, fruit/veggie smoothies, and smoothies that are a mix of just everything under the sun. Some are very healthy, while others end up being more sugar than anything else.

When you’re creating or purchasing, a smoothie, remember the reason why you’re drinking it in the first place – it’s a cleansing drink. You want to detoxify your system. If you end up buying a sugary drink, that’s masked as a healthy smoothie, you are only making your digestive organs work just as hard as they work with a regular meal.

Cleansing drinks, when used as a part of your normal every day diet, can help you live health in a way you’ve never experienced it before. Especially when its combined with water-based foods as well. The best reason I can think of to use a detox cleanse drink to flush out toxins, and pollutants, from the body is because once it’s done, you feel better. How about doing something just because it makes you feel better? What a concept!

From the good people over at Natural News, I was able to find a list of seven foods you want to add to your diet that will cleanse the liver on a regular basis. Now here’s the thing – if all you do is add these foods, and you continue to eat fast food every day, take a ton of drugs, drink hard liquor several times a week, and you never exercise, then guess what? You will become diseased at some point in time – plain and simple.

You cannot just “add” these foods, without adding other key components as well. With health, as it is with life, the more you can add to the pot over time, the better it’s going to be – it’s called progress. If all you can do is eat a salad from McDonalds without puking, then start with the McDonalds salad.

In time, you’ll develop the taste buds to add vegetables to that salad that Mickey Dees doesn’t offer. Soon thereafter you’re going to try a real salad, and realize the McDonald salad was a joke next to a real one. Not too long after that you’re going to be eating greens you once thought were disgusting, like kale.

It’s a progression over time. However, if all you do is add these foods, and you do not add other key components, like drinking water on a regular basis, creating a daily movement program, and taking time to breathe the stress out of your life, then you will be wasting your time.

The first up is Garlic, and garlic is made up of compounds that contain sulfur, which activate enzymes that help to flush toxins from the body. It also contains allicin and selenium, two phytonutrients proven to protect the liver from damage, while also aiding in the liver’s normal detox process as well.

Next are grapefruits. I’ve always loved grapefruits, and really never knew they were great for helping the liver burn fat, and not just store it. Another one of my favorite veggie-fruits is avocado. I call them a veggie-fruit because I only ever eat these things with a salad – never by themselves. I can eat a mango all by itself. But these bad boys are loaded with compounds that help to produce glutathione, which helps protect the liver from a toxic overload. Some researchers have science that shows eating one or two avocados a day, for 30 days, can help repair a damaged liver.

Surprisingly, a nut, like a walnut, helps to oxygenate the blood, and even their hard shells contain elements that can be used in liver-cleansing formulas.

The last food is Turmeric, which looks more like a powder, or spice, than an herb.  This one food can actually help to regenerate damaged liver cells, boosts the production of bile, and helps to improve gallbladder function.

All these foods, when added to your daily diet, and in conjunction with water, the right amount of sleep, a movement program, and all the rest, will help you detox your liver almost on a daily basis. Can you handle that? Truth is most people won’t.

Cleansing the kidney and liver is vital to long term vibrancy. I’m not going to say it’s vital to long-term health, because I’ve seen people absolutely abuse their bodies, and they died at 95 – how do you explain that?

On the other hand, that same person spent the last ten years of their life existing – not living. You can be alive, and not be living anymore. See, when I die I want to make sure that I fired every bullet I had in my gun. I want my tank on empty – can I throw anymore horrible metaphors into this paragraph?

So those are the two choices we always have? Isn’t that a little depressing? Is there any wonder we aren’t able to get ourselves on track with our health in this country?

So when I say your detox is going to a pretty crappy experience, guess what? There’s a very good chance you’re not going to be happy while you’re on it. However, the point about it being worth once you get to the end is spot on.

When you’re done, you’ve reset your system for the next 90 or so days. You can get proactive, and decide to adopt a diet that’s more in line with what a detox entails, or you can go back to the crappy foods you ate beforehand.

Things like headaches, constantly going to the bathroom, constantly passing gas, felling like crap throughout most of the program, bad breath and/or a coated tongue, and last but not least – feeling hungry all the damn time!!

If you don’t experience any of this going through your first cleansing, you are already consuming a detox-like diet, so you’ve created a healthy terrain to begin with; or you are the luckiest SOB on the planet . . . and I salute you.

How do you minimize this stuff? My question is, “why would you?” It’s your body trying to get rid of all the crap you have allowed into your body – why would you try to stop any of it from coming out? That’s why you’re doing this detox crap in the first place!

If you’re experiencing headaches, drink more water. If you find yourself going to the bathroom more often – good; drink more water. Passing gas a little more than you would like? Excellent – drink some water, and continue to let it rip.

Bad breath? Drink water – think I’m playing? Check it out before you talk bad about it. If that’s not enough, consider coconut oil pulling. Just search it online, there’s more than enough information out there to drive you nuts about it.

Got a coated tongue? Great, means that that the detox is working. Go out and buy a tongue scraper, and wipe all that nastiness off a few times throughout the day. And if you’re hungry, then consume more of the stuff you are allowed to consume during a cleanse – salads made up of nothing but green vegetables, herbal teas, fresh juices, delicious vegetable soups, and green smoothies.

I know it’s not the perfect menu, but honestly – that’s more than enough to get you through a 3 day, 7 day, or even the pimp daddy of them all – the 21 day cleanse. Remember one thing, a cleanse is not meant to be a “pleasurable experience.”

Whoever sold you on that hustled you lovely. It’s a detox because you’ve been polluted. If you can hear me now, I would’ve said that last sentence with my best Tony Montana voice, because it’s true. For your body to function at a high level until the day you meet your maker, you need to make sure you’re doing all the maintenance work under that hood to keep that engine fired up.

The reality is that most people will never get on a detox at all throughout the span of their life – that’s sad. Sure, you may be able to swim through unharmed, like say a George Burns, who smoked cigars every day until he passed away. That guy was incredibly lucky – most of us aren’t.

On a side note, George also said he worked out daily, by getting down on the floor and doing pushups. We have seven major systems of elimination in our body – the colon, liver, kidneys, lymphatics, lungs, skin, and blood.

Well, the greatest trick the marketing world ever did was make the American public believe it needed supplements, cleansing kits, medication, exercise equipment, and a million other things, to be healthy and fit.

When it comes to cleansing the liver, of course you can buy products that help with the process; and I’m not here saying they don’t work, but they should only be used after all other natural options have been exhausted first.

Once again, this is my personal philosophy, and it’s how I believe people should go about doing a detox cleanse of any kind. Once you have followed through on all those options, then you can bring in additional products to help make sure the job is really getting done.

So what are some of the natural ways to cleanse liver issues away? First things first – get rid of crap that does more harm to the liver than good. For example, caffeine and alcohol depot toxins in your liver when consumed in large quantities.

I never drank coffee, and I’m never going to start. I don’t like the way it tastes, so it’s not my cup of tea (pun intended.) However, my mother, and brother, drink the stuff like it’s going out of style, so I understand where a coffee-lover is coming from.

There are some steps you can take to reduce the damage coffee does to the liver. First off, stop drinking the stuff from high-traffic commercial places like Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks. And I say this for one reason, and one reason only – you don’t know how the coffee was made.

See, my brother is a java junkie, so he found a way to minimize the damage so he could keep drinking it. First of all you want to get the highest grade bean possible. That means if you can get it organic – you should.

Next, you want to ground the beans up with a coffee grinder, and brew the coffee within fifteen minutes of grinding the beans. This is coffee at it’s freshest. You want to avoid using commercial sugar, and stick organic alternatives; and avoid adding commercial milk, or creamers, as well.

When you drink fresh coffee like this, you reduce the amount of damage it does on the liver – but do not be mistaken; caffeine does not do a body “good.” Do your best to start reducing the amount of caffeine you take into your system on a regular basis.

The next culprit you want to avoid is alcohol; and there has been so much research done on it, with so much information available about it, it would be a waste of my time even trying to compete with the doctors and experts. Find your favorite search engine, and just search the term “alcohol effect on the liver,” and watch the show begin. You want to reduce the amount of alcohol you drink, but realistically – you want to work on getting it out of your life for the rest of your natural life.

After you get rid of those two jokers, you want to start flooding your system with clean water. Something that is readily available for us to drink, is hardly consumed by the majority of folks here in the U.S. I was watching a podcast with one of my favorite comedians interviewing someone, and the lady being interviewed is talking about her problems with diabetes as she pounds down a liter of Coca-Cola.

See, that to me is insane; but she doesn’t see it – so to her it’s fine. If she really knew had bad that was to her system, in general, never mind the fact that she already has diabetes, I believe she would never touch the stuff.

The amount of water you want to drink is entirely up to you. I’ll tell you what I do. I’m 165 lbs. on a regular basis. Sometimes I go up when I start lifting heavy, other times I fall down into 50s when I start playing basketball on a regular basis – but on the whole, you can catch at 165 for the most part. I drink half that amount in ounces, which would be about 80 ounces of water a day. In other words, a little more than half a gallon of water a day.

And because our water pipes have been around for 100 years, and longer, at certain places in the city I live in, I need to make sure that water is filtered. I believe everyone drinking from the tap should do the same. Whether you drink well water, or your water is tapped into a city line – throw on a filter, and get to drinking.

Next you want to add lemon to your water and tea. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you – start drinking tea instead of coffee if you can. In fact, you probably want to make it green tea, without sugar, which has antioxidants in it that help increase the liver’s ability to function properly. The reason you want to use lemon in this tea, and in your water is because it has agents that help the liver produce bile, and prevent the buildup of gallstones.

Lastly, you want to begin adopting a detox diet on a normal basis. Once or twice a week, you may want to substitute a meal for a green smoothie. You want to make sure that 60% of your overall diet is water-based, meaning is made up of fruits and vegetables. You want to eat in a way that resembles the diet of our cousins, the primates.

I know, sounds nutty. I understand, but when you realize that our genetic makeup is almost identical to them – you start to notice how we’re different, and yet, how we are exactly the same. They do not have our ability to think, and reason – but we don’t have their muscle density, bone structure, and strength. Everything else is basically the same.

They have a chain of command that looks the same as we find in our world. Every pack is dominated by an alpha, pretty much the same way we live in our own society. And it’s the same with both men and women – there is one person that dominates, while the rest just follow his or her lead.

However, the way they eat is something we almost never take a look at; and align with our own eating behavior. Primates eat a diet made up mostly of water-based foods, but every now and again they eat meat – and that’s pretty much the same way I believe we should eat as well.

Eat fruits and veggies for the most part, with veggies making up the largest part of your water-based foods; which means making fish, fowl, or meat a smaller part of your plate – with carbs being the smallest.

When you can adopt these simple steps into your life, you help your liver function at a high level, and you give yourself the best chance to live a much healthier and, I believe, happier life.

I’ve expressed several times on this site, the value of cleansing out your digestive system to help regulate your inner environment, and maintain some sense of normalcy in a world that is bombarded by toxins – toxins that constantly find their way into your body.

These three kinds of liquids are used during a fast, which can last as long as three days.  We don’t advocate going longer than three days on a fast because the metabolism actually slows down, as the body goes into self-preservation, believing it is in the beginning stages of a starvation. This process then releases the stress hormone known as cortisol, which causes a whole host of problems – most importantly, storing the belly fat known as “visceral fat.” Fasting can also damage muscles, which occurs because there are such high levels of cortisol in the system. Salads can be consumed as well, and in some instances where some of our clients are not able to handle a full “green” cleanse, we give them the option of adding fruits to the mix as well. Although it is possible to stay on a cleanse for as long as 30 days, we don’t advocate it; just because it isn’t very practical in the world we live today.

I believe, anyone can do a 2 day cleanse, even children, although it’s probably not a good idea if they have not been brought up with cleansing as a part of their experience – better to let them grow into pre-teens before introducing the concept to them; and even then it’s going to be hard – believe me, I know from personal experience. My son looks at like I have two heads when I ask him to do a cleanse; but I’m determined, and I know I’ll get him to submit at some point in time!

So there you have it, a cleanse anyone can do. The question is, are you going to read this and say, “Wow, sounds like a good idea,” as you go about your day; or are you going to take the next step and actually implement it in your life? This stuff only works when you work it. Check it out, the worst that can happen is that you last one day – that’s one day more of rest than they are getting now, which only helps.

Now that we cleared that up, you want to make sure you eat only water-based foods leading up to your fast – at least three days before you start. You also want to make a good portion of those foods organic apples – and yes, eat the skin.

Drink two tablespoons of olive oil on the night before the fast, which helps with digestion, and you want to break the fast with fresh orange juice. You follow this routine for three months in a row, and you are detoxed for the year. Understand this is just one way to detox. There are many more, and each provides it’s own unique set of benefits.

When people hear the phrase “juice cleanse,” they can get all bent out of shape, because they visualize all their favorite foods going away, and being replaced with creepy-looking juices they have to  pound down all day long. And you know what’s kind of interesting? They’re absolutely right!

Hey, I’m a health enthusiast, not a health expert; so I don’t fake myself out like I know many experts tend to do. They’ll tell you, it’s not going to be nearly as bad as you think it is. When I did my first juice detox I nearly lost my mind, and that was because I did it all wrong to be quite honest. However, the reason for this article was to give you a baseline for how to go around searching. I’m going to let you in on a little secret, and this took me a very long time to figure out – there really no such thing as “the best.” When you type in, “best body cleanse for weight loss” into your favorite search engine, you are seeing results based on other peoples’ perspective.

What is “the best” for me, may not be the best for you. What I think is fantastic, you may think is, “just okay.” The only real way to know which weight loss detox cleanse is the best, is to put them all to the test – your test. When you adopt a detoxification diet, you automatically put the principle into daily action; which helps to create a habit.

Habits are great, because you do them unconsciously. The only challenge with a habit, is the actual process of creating it in the first place. That’s a subject for another article, but when you go out and search for cleanses to lose weight with, you are starting the process of putting the principle of detoxification into action. The key component is to turn all that searching, into real action at some point in time.

Weight Loss Detox For Faster Results

What I find from people that start off looking for “the best” in anything is that they want the quick-fix. They want the best because they honestly believe they can shortcut the process and get the results in half the time simply because they are using the best product, service, strategy, etc.

So people looking for cleansing diets to lose weight, search and discover there are dozens of sub-sets under the label “cleanse.” Before they know it, they find themselves in an ocean of information, lost in a sea of confusion, and begging for an island of clarity.

See, I’m not a very religious person, but I have read somewhere, “in all they getting, get understanding,” which I believe is from Proverbs if I’m not mistaken. If you want to avoid the sea of confusion, take time to learn the fundamentals of that which you want to pursue. If you’re interested in purchasing detox products and weight loss tactics, learn the basic fundamentals of detoxing and weight loss. This will help you to become a much more informed shopper, and get you that much closer to your goal.

For instance, when you have a fundamental understanding of detoxing and how the body burns fat, you can look up a term like “detox tea weight loss,” quickly eliminate the gimmicks and focus instead on the real deals.

So with all that being said, I’m sure you’re still asking the question, “What is the best cleanse for weight loss?” The best one that works for you. I know that sounds real vague, but would you rather I try to sell you on a product that I’m not sure may or may not be the best product for you? Aren’t you tired of being sold stuff that looks good, sounds good, but doesn’t deliver the goods?!

Understand that I am a marketer as well. I sell stuff online all the time. In fact, if you look around the page you’re on right now, you will probably see stuff for sell all over the place. My job is not to tell you what to buy – you make the choice on your own. However what I won’t do is tell you which product is the absolute best because there is no such thing.  Secondarily, I feel much better selling stuff to informed people, then I do someone who is just getting started on their journey.
