As you probably already know, we focus on ways for you to detox your body, and shed unwanted fat here at DetoxCleansingDiet.org. However, the key is to make sure you are giving the body what it needs to perform at an optimal level. This is the primary reason for detoxing – sometimes your body needs a break from all the crap we pound into it on a daily basis.
One to ease the strain you put on your body is to make sure you are chewing your food all the way down to a liquid form. This allows the body’s digestive system to break it down into a workable form it can use to help restore energy and power. When it comes to giving the body a much needed rest, and allowing it to revitalize and re-energize, the best, simplest, way to get the job done is with a liquid detox diet. I know what you’re probably thinking, “This guy’s talking about fasting. I hate fasting. I’m outta here.”
Before you take off, just know that, yes, I am talking about fasting, but that’s just one part of a liquid diet. Here’s a couple of things you need to realize about detoxifying the body – it isn’t comfortable or enjoyable.
Anyone that tries to sell you that line, is looking to sell you something else as well. I’ve done a number of detoxes over the last ten years, and I’ve enjoyed none of them. The idea is not to feel warm and fuzzy about the process; the idea is to get the most benefit from that discomfort.
I mean, if you are going to be uncomfortable, why not make sure you’re going to get the most out of it, right? Fasting is one aspect of liquid detoxification. In our world, here at www.detoxcleansingdiet.org, we see fasting as only drinking liquids, every day, for a max out period of three days.

Of course, you can do whatever you’d like to do; but we think that three days is more than enough time to get the value provided by deciding to skip eating solid food for 72 hours; and only feeding the body vitamins and minerals through a liquid form.
So how do you fast? It’s quite simple. You can drink structured water for the duration of your fast. Structured water is taking filtered water, and applying a few elements to it that causes the water to become a dynamic property; and not your standard H2O.
You can add a little Himalayan sea salt, just a pinch, and a squeeze, or slice, of lemon. Lemons bring a ton of value to the game, including helping the liver function at a high level. There are other ways you structure water, like adding powdered greens.
Green drinks have become a staple in cleansing diets over the past 10 years. They’re easy to make, and have a ton of nutrients and vitamins. Of course, noting is quite as nutritious as a fresh juice; made from scratch right in front of you – but not everyone has access to a juicer, or health store that offers juicing.
In those instance, buying a high quality mixed green drink will work perfectly. Another way you can fast is with green herbal tea. When you eliminate the sugar, and all the other additives, that tend to take away more than they provide, you have an excellent liquid nutrient that’ easy to make, as well as consume.
One level below these options, for fasting anyway, is the mixed drinks; like you find with The Master Cleanse. This drink contains lemons, and maple syrup, for the most part, and is consumed for as little as seven days, or as long as 30.

Since The Master Cleanse can be done in a variety of ways, we don’t label it a fast; although it could be. If you decided to drink it, as it was originally created, then we suggest you only do so for three days. Although everyone’s genetic make-up is different, fasting after three days, in our experience, tends to affect your body adversely.
What doesn’t affect your body after the same period of time, is the second half to a liquid detox; and that’s a cleanse. A cleanse is made up of all the liquids we just covered, and also contains green smoothies, and fruit smoothies as well.
A smoothies, which is a blend of whole foods, is, essentially, drinking a bowl of fruits, or vegetable, or in some cases – both! Why cleansing can last for as many as 30 days, is because you are consuming whole foods – they happened to be blended into a baby food-type texture.
With juicing, precious minerals and nutrients are discarded in the process. These elements are critical to helping the body maintain it’s ability to function at a high level. When these elements are not fed to the body regularly, the body starts pulling what it needs from other areas.
Once this begins, breakdown, and organ malfunction begins to take place. If you let that process continue, eventually it turns into cellular malfunction; and this causes disease. This is why we suggest fasting for short periods of time, which your body can easily handle; and cleansing for a longer period of time, like 7-10 days, which again – your body can easily handle.
However, in either case, because you are not eating, there will be discomfort. You will be annoyed, irritable, and tough to be around for a few days, but that pain is what gives the body rejuvenation. Take the next few days off, and start a cleanse or fast – your body will thank you for it.
One of the biggest myths, or misconceptions, on the market today, is the belief that you need a detox kit, or product, to help you cleanse your system. People were detoxing over a hundred years ago. So how were they able to do it without all the products available today?
They created homemade detox drinks, and took a few days off from eating while they consumed these drinks; or they consumed these drinks in addition to their regular diet – you can do the same, and for a whole lot less than what many companies are charging for their products or service.

There are some key ingredients you’re going to need to consider before you put your batch together. Understand that a combination of these ingredients may taste great, while other combinations will taste downright horrible – but they all have a cleansing factor they bring to the table.
First up are lemons. He easiest homemade detox drink is lemon water; and yes, you make it exactly how it sounds. You take a glass of cold, filtered water, and add a squeeze of fresh lemon to it. Lemon water helps the body become more alkaline, and when your body’s alkalinity is balanced, it’s able to heal itself effectively.

Turmeric contains curcumin, which has been found to cleanse the liver, improve brain function, treat arthritis, and even fight certain cancers.
Obviously there are many more ingredients you can add to your homemade drink, but the best way is to start experimenting. Once you start doing that, you’re going to find that you will begin researching more ingredients you can use; and once that begins – you find that there is an endless amount of recipes you can concoct to help detox your body.

There a number of detox diet drinks you can choose from to help cleanse your channels of elimination, reset your system, and get you back on the track to health. We’re going to cover a few here, and talk about a way for you to get your hands on some more information you can use to detox your system today.
The granddaddy of all the detox diet drinks – The Master Cleanse. This liquid diet was created in 1941, by Stanley Burroughs, and a had a well-known history with health buffs before it became a worldwide sensation when mega pop star Beyonce Knowles, got on it to help her drop 20 pounds before the shooting of 2006 hit movie, “Dreamgirls.”
This diet is also known as The Lemonade Diet, and Maple Syrup Diet. It’s made up of water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper, Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? It’s actually pretty good, but after pounding down anywhere from six to twelve glasses of this stuff a day, you can see just how unappealing this would become after day three.
Well, some folks actually stay on this diet for as long as forty-five days, can you imagine? That’s way too long for me, but it is possible to go that long, and still maintain some semblance of health; although I would recommend sticking with the 10 day version.
Next we have the Martha’s Vineyard Detox Diet, also known as the “Lose 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet.” This definitely qualifies as a detox diet drink because it entails consuming specific fruit and vegetable liquids.
Detox Diet Drinks For Weight Loss
Whole foods are allowed during this cleanse, but they are restricted to vegetables only. A registered nurse, Roni DeLuz, apparently was the creator of this particular diet. There are options you get to choose from – a two day plan, a seven day plan, and a 21 day plan.
This cleanse is used once a year, and for the amount of time you’re on the cleanse, you are drinking a concoction of fruits and vegetables every two hours. The people on this detox plan stress weight loss, but the reason for a detox has nothing to do with weight loss. If you lose any weight at all, it will be a by-product of the main outcome; which is giving the digestive system, as well as the other channels of elimination, a chance to take a rest, and re-energize themselves
Another detox drink is the Ultimate Tea Diet, a diet created by Mark Ukra; an authority on tea. Mark believes the reason why his diet works so well ins because tea naturally encourages detoxification. Because the body is detoxifying, it’s also losing weight at the same time, because it contains three core ingredients – caffeine, L-theanine and EGCG.
Caffeine is a stimulant, L-theanine helps to neutralize the harmful effects of caffeine, while also acting as an appetite suppressant, and EGCG helps switch on the fat-burning mechanism we all have within us. Although this diet does focus on drinking a wide variety of herbal teas, including green tea, blak tea, and even white tea, you also have the option of eating three meals put together with an eye on protein, carbs, and fats.
The last detox diet drink is the Fruit Flush Smoothie. The original Fruit Flush is a three-day detox diet created by nutritionist Jay Robb. Robb believed his specific combination of whole foods flushed toxins out of the body naturally due to their high water and fiber content.
His diet called for a sugar-free protein drink to be consumed every two hours, followed by a meal made up of lean protein, like fish, eggs or fowl; and raw vegetables – all this happened on day one. Days two and three consisted of eating cantaloupe, strawberries, mangoes and apples — every two hours, while dinner was a plate of raw vegetables and a protein drink.

The smoothie version is slightly different. For one, or as many as seven days, all you do is drink different variations of fruit smoothies, made up of whole fruit. You can use any combination you want, and you go for it.
There’s going to be a lot of bathroom runs, and it won’t be pleasant, but it can be done. Since it’s all water-based foods, you’re giving your entire system a chance to reset, and get back into balance. Once you’re off any of thesedetox diet plans, it’s in your best interest to eat in a way that is very easy on the digestive system; almost as if you’re eating a detox-like diet on a daily basis.

I guess the reason people are always looking for the “best this,” or the “best that,” is because we believe that the best of anything is going to give us the most benefits. So what’s the best detox drink available on the market.
Well, my answer is neither sexy, nor cute. It’s old, plain, and boring; and you’re going to see me write out my answer, the same way I’ve written a similar message, over and over again, here on this site. The best detox drink, or the best workout, or the best diet, is the one you decide to use.
I know this is probably what you don’t want to read, or aren’t interested in hearing, but after several years of coaching, and training clients, I can honestly tell you that the one stumbling block I see for people, on their way to building health, is simply getting the courage to start the process.
Discovering The Best Detox Drink That Works For You
You will not believe how many times people will create excuses to avoid dealing with a problem they know they have. They will avoid starting a weight loss program, because they’re on the hunt for the best weight loss program. Hey will not start working out, because they’re looking for the differences between the top ten workouts being sold on the market.
I have some eye-opening news for those reading that believe “new” means “better.” There are always going to be new products entering the market, but the truth is, if all you did was start using an old Jane Fonda workout video, you would get more mileage out of that thing, then the brand new 90 Day To Destruction, 15 DVD course you just picked up – that you never use.
I honestly don’t know what the best detox drink is out on the market today, some people like smoothies, others like mixed drinks, like The Master Cleanse. Still others like green drinks that you can mix together, and a few like using nothing more than green tea.
What do I use when I detox? I like to use them all to be honest. I’m not a fan of fasting, but I know many people like the way it makes them feel; so we made sure to add it as an option here on our site. I prefer cleanses, which can include a variety detox drinks.

I can drink the maple syrup cleanse, lemonade cleanse, green smoothies; and even the all-fruit smoothies. When you focus on the principle first, which is to allow the body to get some rest, by refraining from eating solid foods, you give it time to heal and re-energize.
How you go about doing that is up to you. One way to do that is with a green whole food cleanse, where all you do is consume green veggies, until you feel it’s time to go back to a regular diet. The truth, a fast, is probably the best way to go. A simple one day fast, where you only drink liquids for a 24 hour period, can do the body wonders.

Detoxing your system has a bunch of benefits, but it can mentally drain you if you’re net ready. And if you’re doing a 14 day detox diet, if can seem quite daunting if you are not mentally prepared for what lies ahead.
Here’s the nightmare scenario – hope you’re ready. Days 1-4 are the absolute worst. Aren’t you glad you found this article about detoxing? See, you probably ended up here thinking I was going to give you a full menu of things you need to complete the cleanse, and all that jazz.
Listen, I’m a health and fitness enthusiast – not an expert. I love reading about this stuff, learning about it, and giving my two cents on it. I’m not going to sit here, and act like I know everything about everything when I don’t.
When I want to learn things, I go to the same sites you go to – Healthy Living. Dr. Oz, Dr. Weil, etc. I gather up all the material, study it, give it a day or two to marinate, and then I spew back onto the interwebs through my own lens – and when it comes to detoxes, I definitely have my own experiences and perspective.
And I think days 1-4 are as close to “Jonesing” as you’re going to get, if you have never been addicted to drugs. If you have no idea what that term is, it’s American slang for the feeling drug addicts get when they need more drugs in their system, and they don’t have any.

The reason is simple – food has become a drug for the western civilization. Conspiracy theorists will say that the food is made in such a way now that forces you to want to go out and buy more of it. So you’re eating more of this food, but because it’s nutrient deficient, you’re getting a double whammy.
You’re getting fatter because you’re eating more, and you’re malnourished because the food you’re eating is essentially – non-foods. Do I believe this? I’m going to say that I do, but I honestly cannot say this is not the case either.
All I can do is observe, and what I’m seeing today is scary. Not only am I seeing more heavy people walking about, but with the case of men, the essence of what it means to be a man seems to be fading away fast.
Once again, this is only what I observe here in the northeast section of the country. Interestingly enough, this is supposed to be the one of “hardest” parts of the country because of gangs, crews, the mafia, etc. I’m not from that world, so I don’t see a lot of that; but what I do so are a bunch of sloppy fat guys who look like they’ve never worked out a day in their lives, and look like they would hand over their wallet if all you did was ask them to.
In fact, the women in this part of the country, are way tougher than the men. A large majority of the women here have no problem telling you how they feel if you step out of line. A guy will let someone totally disrespect him, and not stand up for himself – it’s amazing.

Now you’re probably thinking – “What the heck does all this rambling have to do with a detox?” In a roundabout , help up to develop our natural instincts. If all you do is eat non-food, which is more readily available today than whole food is, you set yourself up to become addicted to that food, and end up becoming a weaker version of your true self in the process.
Why do you think so many people are standing in fast food lines, when they 200, 300, 400 pounds? Do you think it’s because they don’t care how they look? These people are ashamed of themselves, but they’re addicted to the food.
When you detox, and force yourself to stick to a strict diet of green whole foods, you cause your body to system restore; like what happens with PCs when you need to return them back to their original states after a virus attacks.
And believe me, this is coming from someone who was a food junkie – it’s an absolute nightmare. All you think about is food, you’re hungry, you have headaches, and like I mentioned earlier – you get as close to feeling what an addict feels when they need a fix.
Miraculously, after day 3 or 4, it goes away. What replaces it is really strange. You end up clear-headed, and energized. If you’re not careful, this is where most people screw p and fall off the wagon. Because you have more energy, you think, “Great, it’s time for me to start working out!”
Listen to me, until you build a strong enough tolerance, which comes after doing cleanses like this over and over again, you will end up hungrier than you’ve ever been, and you’ll eat something that is not in line with your program – and you will need to start all over again.
Just so you know, you do not come off of a cleanse eating whatever you want. You need to work your way back to a normal diet. Instead of just a salad, you may throw a baked potato in there after coming off a cleanse; or adding beans to your salad – something light, but heavy enough so your body knows it needs to get back into action.
Making sure you detox on a regular basis is important. Whether you’re a conspiracy theorist, or a health wack job like myself, you need to make sure your body can get as close to where it’s naturally supposed to be in these weird times we live in. There are, as you probably already know, a gazillion 7 day detox diet plans available on the market. Which one is the best? Which one should you end u choosing? So many questions, so little time . . . aarggh!
Actually, it isn’t even half that serious. Just the fact that you have decided to do a detox, in a society that places all responsibility on everything, and anything, other than themselves, is a big deal. I think the real focus needs to be on what kind of detox are you interested in using to get the results you’re looking for.
Are you looking to fast? In our world, here at DetoxCleansingDiet.org, we see fasting as liquids only, for a short period of time. For example, you can drink fresh juices, herbal teas, and structured water for a period of three days, and that would be an awesome ay to flush out toxins from the body, while also giving your organs a well-deserved vacation.
You can stretch that fast out to seven days, but we don’t recommend it. We understand that many fasting experts have tons of data supporting several-week fasting plans, but every time we’ve seen it – the negatives always outweigh the positives.
However, what gets the same kind of results a fast provides, over a longer period of time – is a cleanse. A cleanse, once again in our wacky world, consists of the same fast menu, but also includes green whole foodsas well.
With a cleanse you can eat a salad, or blend together a green smoothie. With a very laid back cleanse, you can also include fruits as well. The difference between a fast and a cleanse is that with a cleanse, you get to bypass all the adverse reactions your body can have when it is not being nourished properly after a three day period.
With a water-based whole food cleanse, that includes both fruits and vegetables, it is possible to stay on it for 30 days or longer. Again, we don’t recommend more than a 21-day cleanse because of practical reasons, but it won’t hurt you; and if you can maintain that type of diet – go for it.
The best kind of detox diet, as far as we’re concerned, is the 7-10 day detox I ended up driving myself nuts when I first did this cleanse, so let me give you some pointers that will help you avoid having a negative experience.
When you create a fresh juice, drink it right away. Do not store it. The longer a juice sits around, the faster the benefits begin to oxidize, and basically – disappear. As soon as that last drop is squeezed into your glass, pound that sucker down, clean up, and move on to something else;
When you create a blend, otherwise known as a smoothie, make sure to drink that smoothie within a couple of hours at most. You can blend up something, throw it in glass container, and drink it later of you need to leave – but do not store it in the fridge.
The main idea being that these natural foods begin to lose the benefits they contain, the second you decide to process them into something else. A juice is processed fruits or processed vegetables. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nothing on par with the juices you buy in the store, because those things will wreak havoc in your system – but fresh juices are still processed.
The purists will tell you I’m full of crap, not to listen to me, and that a fresh juice is definitely not processed. I honestly don’t care if these people want to be right, or want to label me wrong – what I am more interested in is that you understand how to give your system what it needs, when it needs it.
The reason you’re detoxing your body is because you want to reset your inner environment. If you have not allowed your body to rest by refusing to eat a normal diet for at least one day, you are helping your body age at an incredibly fast rate.
Well, while you’re doing this, you also want to make sure that you are adding important nutrients so you don’t become sick in the process. This is why knowing a few rules about how to consume these nutrients through juicing or bending is critical – regardless of semantics.
Another idea is to drink your juices and smoothies during the day, while eating your salads at night. Let’s face it, the madness ends around day four. Up until that point, all you can think about is eating a normal meal – whatever “normal” means for you.
When you first get on a cleanse, or fast, eating is the only thing you can ever think of. For some reason, I guess it’s because the body just decides that food, as it’s always known it, is no longer a part of the equation after a few days – and decides to make do with the new stuff you’re feeding it.
However, you still need to feel satiated, or you run the risk of falling off the wagon before reaching the end of the cleanse. To do this, at least the way I found seems to work best for me, is to drink all throughout the day, and eat whole foods all throughout the early evening.
Some of my clients have had better results flipping it around, and having juices at night while eating during the day. There is no set plan for this thing – you just need to do what works best for you, as long as you stay true to the principal behind the whole program; which is detoxing the body for better health.

If you’re looking up 21 day detox diet plans, you are one bad mofo! I am a bonafide health nerd, and it took me a very long time to work up the nerve to do a 10 day cleanse, let alone a three week cleanse. So with that being said, I salute you for wanting to take that step.
I’ll be 100% transparent, I’ve never done a cleanse for that long, and that’s because I honestly have no interest in sticking to something so strict. Once again, I’m a health and fitness enthusiast, I’m not an expert.

The reason behind a detox is to reset your system. After piling on pounds of noxious toxins into your body on a regular basis, it only makes sense that we give it a break every so often. I mean, we always find out how many weeks’ vacation they give us whenever we start a new job – why is that? Because we want to setup our time to chill out.
The same gos for your internal organs. They are working at all hours of the day. Many if us at times during the day that throw our system for a loop. So what ends up happening? You go to sleep at around midnight, and while you’re dead to the world, your body is still working like it’s the middle of the day.
Of course, many of us don’t get nearly the amount of sleep we really need to be functioning at a high level, so you end u sleep deprived, and your body is working from a deficit due to the lack of rest, while having to work overtime while your brain rested.
Now what happens? You force yourself up, take a shower, and start the day right by pounding down a cup of coffee, or energy drink, to get the system going. You follow this weird routine day in and day out, and then we wonder why heart disease, and cancer, are killing us off in waves.

Hey, these diseases are not floating around in the sky. These arelifestyle diseases, and how we live, is going to determine just how healthy, or unhealthy, we will be as we begin to age. We’re all going to get old, you can make believe it doesn’t exist, and run the risk of living the last half of your life in a terrible state.
I’m more of a give-me-the-worst-case-best-case-scenario guy. If you tell me what’s ahead, and I actually get to make the choice as to what my chances are, then I’m going to do everything I need to do to put myself in the best positon possible.
If you’re here on this site, looking for information on cleansing for three weeks, than you are just like me; so here are some pearls you may want to use during your cleanse:
Stick to green whole foods most of the time for the best possible cleanse. Fruits tend to be of a sugary-nature, and you can avoid all that by staying with the greens.
Decide on a dummy-proof, boring diet you can follow with very little thought. If you end up buying all these complicated recipes that require pinches of herbs and spice that you need a magic man to provide, you’re going to give yourself more ammunition to drop off the program. Collect a few easy meals, and a few simple smoothies and juices; and get to work.
Try to avoid exercise during your cleanse if you’re a newbie; in other words, if you are new to the world of detoxes. Working out puts a strain on the body, and this is going to cause you to get ravenous. When all you’re eating is salads, and drinking smoothies, and you end up starving yourself – how good are the chances that you’re going to end the day on the program?
The chances dwindle rapidly with each rep and set you add to the workout. The best thing you can do is to walk at a brisk pace throughout your cleanse. This doesn’t put too much of a load on your system, and a few salads can handle that kind of work, so walk it out.
Lastly, make sure to make the cleanse itself a small part of your day. If this detox is one of your main priorities, you give it way too much thought, and could wind up losing it altogether. On the other hand, if you take it too lightly, you could end up eating, or drinking, something by mistake that takes you off the cleanse.
I think you need to keep everything in it’s proper perspective. You’re detoxing to become healthier – period, end of story. It doesn’t have to be the beginning of a new life, or the start of something grand. Sometimes we put too much emphasis on things that don’t deserve them.
You’re detoxing to help get you healthier, and when you get off the cleanse you’re going to continue eating a detox-like diet from that point on. If you say that to yourself, almost matter-of-factly, then it doesn’t become this thing that becomes bigger than what it really is.
I wish you all the lick in the world, and just know, that other have done cleanse for longer periods of time; so if they can do that, you can definitely do this!
The best way to start your detox career, at least in my opinion is with a 3 day detox diet program. It’ only 72 hours long, so even the weakest among us can handle it; and it’s because it’s so short, it cuts down on complications.
One of the issues I have with many of the diet plans today, whether they’re detox diets or regular diets, is the attention given to variety. Variety is the spice of life, but not when to comes to a detox. Detoxes are not meant to be an enjoyable experience, they’re a means to an end.
Even the word, “detox,” does that conjure images of happy times and soft flowers? No way, I picture someone huddled up in a corner, going through something most people will not want any parts of. Well guess what? A detox diet, thankfully, is nowhere close to that mental imagery I gave you, bit if it was – I would still do it; for the results it produces.
A detox allows you to reset the major systems that help to run your body, starting with the digestive system. Because everything in the body is interdependent, what happens to one area in the body, will affect all areas of the body.
So a detox, even though it may only focus on one area, will affect everything else; and it’s important that you allow your body time to rest, rejuvenate, and re-energize. So if that means eating the same three to four meals day-in-and-day-out, then that’s what I’m going to do to be able to get those benefits.
3 Day Detox Diet Delivers Real Health Benefits
Instead, you get these clever marketers that twist the truth all the way around to get you to part with your hard-earned money; for a rehashed variance of a detox diet. And I get more mad at people that allow themselves to believe they go through something, which requires sacrifice, with virtually no pain, than the marketers themselves.
It’s like going out to buy a used car back in the day. I remember going with my older brother to buy a used car, several times growing up, and I noticed he always had my uncle with him. I realized it was because my uncle knew a lot about the cars that were being sold at that time, so it made sense to have someone, who knew what they were talking about, walk you through the process.
When I became old enough to own a car, I would take one of my friends at the time, by the name of Moose, who knew a ton about cars, out to help me hunt a car down. See, I went out and found someone who proved to me that they knew what they were talking about, and only then did I feel comfortable buying something because this person could help walk me through the buying process.
I see people online today looking for presentation instead of substance. I understand how you present yourself to the marketplace is important, but if a person is more interested in the design of a website, than the information they went online to research, how can I be upset at a marketer for taking their money; and delivering a crappy product?
First things first, if you want to be comfortable, forget about detoxing altogether. Your insides are going to go through hell, but at least you won’t have discomfort. If you want to create more health in your world, then get ready for some discomfort – because that’s exactly what a detox is.
You can, however, mitigate this with some sensible planning, and creating a small list of salads, smoothies, teas, soups, and juices you can use to get you through the process. Think about what I just outlined for you – five different consumable items you can use during a cleanse, does this really sound like you’re doing hard time on Alcatraz?
And a 3 day detox is a short enough window, that by day three, when you’re about to lose your mind completely, you know that you’ll be off the cleanse within a few short hours. I always tell my private clients, that days three and four are the worst during a cleanse.
It seems like the body knows that I’s going to have to deal without eating any “normal” foods going forward, and it lashes out at you in a bad way. Once you move past day four, you level out, and it becomes a much easier process to deal with.

If you’re just getting started though, the best place to start is with a 3 day detox. Of course I can go into all the specifics of a detox, but as I’ve mentioned many times here on this site, I teach principles – not practices.
Well that’s not entirely true, I teach practices to my private clients and members of our newsletter, but the public, people like you that end up on this site looking for freebies, I know nine out of ten of you won’t implement half the stuff I write about anyway – so why go into details?
I’d rather teach you a principal like resetting your system regularly with something like a cleanse or a fast. You can choose to do a fast, which can last 1 or 3 days, or a cleanse, which can last as long as 30 days in some instances.
Some people do 4 day fasts, others do 90 day cleanses, I’m not here to tell you what’s right or wrong, I’m just here to let you know that if you do not regularly schedule a detox for yourself, then you’re putting yourself at risk for developing disease in your body – how you go about it is entirely up to you.

We’ve discussed several times on this site, the value of having a functioning liver. Truth be told, the word “value” doesn’t even cut it. Your liver is priceless, forget about valuable or even invaluable. Once you liver goes, you’re in trouble.
Doctors of the past, used to be able to look at you and tell if your liver was working properly. They looked at your eyes, and the color of your skin, and would feel around your back, pressing certain areas to see your response. Today, without a wide range of tests – many doctors have no idea if your liver is functioning at a high level.
This is why preventative measures are always the best kind of measures to take. It’s my personal belief that that you play defense with your body, until you’re forced to play offense. I know that may sound a little strange, so let me explain.
Defense, for me, and the way I think, means doing everything you can to make sure you defend your body from toxicities that are constantly attacking it. This comes in the form of what you eat, drink, shower with, breathe in every day, and everything else. Toxicity is everywhere, isn’t it? Well, to guard against that I believe in detoxing my system at least twice a year, and eating a detox diet throughout the year.
This may seem extreme, but what I consider extreme is someone dying at forty-two years old because their liver failed after years of hard drinking, poor diet, and lack of movement. That kind of story seems a lot more extreme than anything I’m doing.
How To Detox Liver
How about a thirty-eight year old stuck in one of those scooters for old people, because they aren’t able to talk around more due to disease in their body? See, that kind of outcome seems ridiculous to me when you compare it with the simple steps I take to ward off that kind of result.
Another part of my defensive strategy is going to the doctor at least once a year for a check-up. I got on doctors more than anyone I personally know, and I rail against them all the time online – but I have respect for them; and I know what they’re qualified to help me with – symptomology.
They can detect any abnormalities in my system better than I ever could, and because they can – I reverse engineer that skill to let me know everything is fine. In other words, if they don’t find anything – I know the steps I’m taking are working, and I just make sure to maintain the strategies and tactics I’m using to be able to repeat that result again and again.
Now the offense starts when they do find something. It’s at that point, that I begin listening to the options they give me, with the last option always being surgery. If you can figure out a way to get the result you want, without them opening up, the better.
This is why detoxing the liver is so vital to your health. Why wait until a doctor is giving you options like “gallbladder removal” to start taking actions that can avoid having to deal with that altogether? Alcohol, taking certain prescription drugs, Hepatitis B, Cancer, and abnormal blood flow can lead to liver disease– and all of these factors can be attributed to lifestyle, and can be reduced, or even eliminated in some cases.
Here are signs that your liver is starting to become sick:
For women, PMS or hormonal problems
Pain in right side under rib cage (liver area)
Eye pain/red eyes, or yellow
Indigestion after fatty meals
Difficulty burning fat
Remember, about 75% of liver tissue damage needs to take place before you start seeing the symptoms of disease, but your doctor will usually find out once 90% of damage is already in place. By then, the chances of coming back from that become less and less.

A detox cleanse for your liver is vital to maintaining. Here are some simple steps you can take: create a movement program – get your butt up and moving. Like Brad Pitt’s character in World War Z said, “Movement is life.” Although he was talking about zombies, it’s true I real life as well.
Humans were never meant to sit down at a computer for eight hours a day; and just because you do, doesn’t mean you have to sit on the couch for seven more when you go home. Create a plan that’s revolves around a passion that involves movement, like sports, swimming, martial arts, etc. This makes the working out process less of a chore, any more of a way to help you get better at what it is you already like to do.
If you’re taking a lot of medication, start finding ways to get off them immediately. If you’re taking pills due to high blood pressure, start working on ways to lower your blood pressure. I mean, I know this may sound overly simplistic, but folks – it really is that simple. Do not let the marketers, and powers-that-be, fool you into believing you need medication in your life to be healthy.
We went thousands of years without medication – why would you think we need all of that crap now? Lastly, focus on what you eat. What you eat can either make you or break you. If you ever find yourself pausing just before you order something at a fast food spot, don’t dismiss it – that pause was your unconscious letting you know that what you are eating isn’t good for you. Make a new choice and get something better, or get the heck out of that place altogether.
A full body detox that includes the liver, digestive system, and kidneys is required at least once a year if you’re at all serious about your health. To take proactive measure, you also want to make sure that you are eating a detox-like diet as well. There are, of course, no guarantees in life; but if all you did was all you could do, then at least you can look yourself in the mirror and know that you did everything possible on your own behalf – 9.5 times out of 10, that will be enough.
Let’s face it, when you’re in the middle of a detox, it requires a mental focus to get through that thing, and see it to the end, am I right? If you’ve never been on a detox, you need how crazy it can make you at times.
Before we continue, let me be real clear – I’m not talking about losing your mind three hours into your detox, or even two days – that kind of stuff most people can do standing on their head. I mean days four, five, and six, of a seven day cleanse can be absolute torture; if you’re not firing the mentals on all cylinders.
So knowing that I gathered up a few detox cleanse recipes from around the net you can use to spice things up during your next cleanse. And before you jump into conspiracy theory mode, you should know I have no affiliation with any of these companies. I just took the time to find a few recipes I thought you might want to use on your next cleanse.
Now before I list them out to you, you should know that one of the things I stress here on the site is not just cleansing once or twice a year, but adopting a cleansing diet as a way of life. It’s my personal belief when you are consuming foods that help your inner world, on a regular basis, you set yourself up to win for the long-term.

Jack Lalanne, one of my heroes in this health and fitness game, lived to be as old as he was, in the shape he was in, because he was all about juicing, eating whole foods, and working out every single day. I see 30 year old men, and women, in handi-cap scooters because their hips are all out of sorts; and it’s sad that a poor diet, and lack of movement, forces people into that kind of predicament.
What’s interesting, and it took me many years to adopt this mindset, so please don’t think I’m being an arrogant S.O.B. when I say this, and that’s that we have become soft as a nation. Just the idea of eating or drinking something that we doesn’t agree with us is enough to cause us to swear it off – even at our own expense.
This is a nation that was built by great people. People that knew what words like work, sacrifice, and honor meant. Nowadays, you ask someone to drink a green juice a few times a week to help keep your inner world balanced, and they’ll look at you like you’re crazy. Sure it tastes like crap, but it’s good for you – and I’m more inclined to drink something that tastes like crap, then to feel and look like crap because I always want to eat whatever I feel like, whenever I want to eat it.
And that last sentence is very important, because it ties into something I whole-heartedly believe in; and that’s this – you can have whatever you want, as long as you’re putting in the work to warrant that kind of behavior. If you went into the gym and hoisted up real weight, or went out and biked for 20 miles – then I can see you getting away with walking into IHOP and ordering a stack of pancakes.

But if you haven’t done anything, and I mean absolutely nothing to back that decision up – you are lying to yourself. And here’s the thing about natural law, it doesn’t matter what you feel about it – it works whether you believe in it or not. So if you want to lie to yourself about all the work you’re doing, that’s fine – but the fat is still going to build, the arteries are still going to get clogged, and at some point in time you’re going to reach a point of no return – and you either die, live in a weakened state the rest of your life, or get lucky with a second chance. Why in the heck would you want to put yourself in a position where those are your only options?
Maybe I’m crazy, and maybe I see it differently – but for me, I’d rather have fun while I’m alive, and be physically capable of doing everything I can do, while I can do it, and go to the grave with no regrets. If you think that way too, then here are some recipes you may want to use for your next detox:
Did you know your liver was the second largest organ in your body? I didn’t either until I started doing research for these articles. Hey, if you know me, you know I don’t fake the funk. I’m a health enthusiast, not a health expert; and the more I learn about how the body works, the more I’m amazed at how awesome it is.
The liver is designed to filter out toxins from the blood stream – when it is working properly. These toxins are neutralized through a series of processes. Interestingly enough, some of the chemicals used to break down these pollutants are recycled, and the rest is shipped off to your digestive system through a substance known as bile.
If that was al it did, it will still be a valuable piece of hardware in our complex system; but that’s just the beginning. It also helps to store glycogen and regulate blood sugar levels. It regulates molecules and enzymes involved with protein metabolism. It breaks down fat and produces cholesterol. It stores iron, copper, and a range of vitamins. It helps to regulate hormones. It neutralizes free radicals with antioxidants – and the most important piece, produces bile.
Bile, which is made up of salts, cholesterol, bilirubin, water, and other compounds, serves two purposes. It helps with carrying away all the crap that was produced during the liver detox process; and dumps it into the small intestine. Obviously that’s an over-simplification, but I like keeping things as simple as possible. Next, the bile, while sitting in the small intestine, also helps the body digest, as well as absorb, fatty foods that aren’t fully dissolved by the stomach and digestive enzymes.

If you don’t find that amazing, you’re a little weird in my book. That’s absolutely fascinating to me; and yet, I can understand why so many people are sick, overweight, tired, and getting bigger as each day passes. If somebody like myself, who prides himself in staying in shape, and studies health, had no idea what was going on in my liver, how can we expect everyday working people to know about this too. And when you consider that the majority of doctors do not look at the liver’s health, until it is severely compromised, you can see how most people are in the dark about their bodies.
I believe when people know what’s at stake, they are more akin to making the “safer” decision. But the flip side to that argument are the smoking statistics here in our country alone, never mind the rest of the world where cigarette smoking is exploding. There are more people smoking than ever before, even with all the information we have on smoking – so who knows what people would really do that with that information I guess.
Anyway, detoxing the liver is a good idea to make sure it keeps functioning so that it can help detox your body on a regular basis, ya dig? So let’s find out how to do that.
First up are commercial products that claim their industrial-strength, warehouse-chemical produced pill is going to help detox your body’s organs. Sadly, most people still buy into the marketing hype, and forget to look at the product itself. When you use a bunch of man-made chemical-compounds, and introduce that into the body, it usually causes more harm than good. With that being said, there are still some products being made out there, that keep the body in mind when they are being produced, and they are absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, they are few and far between; and because there is more care going into their production, they are more expensive than the garbage being peddled through normal media channels, like TV, magazines, and radio.
How To Cleanse The Liver Video
So how to cleanse your liver in the best way possible is to take proactive steps to create a healthy environment for it to thrive in.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol and cigarette consumption as much as possible.
Avoid ‘white’ foods e.g. white bread, rice, sugar, cakes, pasta, etc.
Avoid fried foods and the use of butter, margarine and processed vegetable oils
Avoid toxic pest control in your home and on your lawn, garden or fruit trees.
Be wary of the personal care products you use. For example: deodorant, shampoo, lotion, etc. If you see a long list of ingredients you have a hard time trying to say out loud – that’s a clear indication of how potentially dangerous those chemicals can be to your inner environment. There are alternatives, but like anything else – because they are being produced with more care, they require more money to produce; which then gets reflected in the price you end up paying.
Ease up on the use of air fresheners, and “industrial-strength” household products.
Use plastics the way they were meant to be used. Do not microwave food in plastic containers. Do not store soups, stews, or other liquids in plastic. Instead use glass. Even baby bottles should be glass.
When using Teflon, make sure to avoid the pan smoking, which means the release of toxins found within the Teflon.
Open your window and ventilate often. If you keep plants around the home, that helps too; because plants are natural air detoxifiers.
Get a shower filter and a drinking water filter to clean out your water.
Unplug electronics or devices from the wall that are being used on a daily basis – they produce electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) that do have an effect on your body.
Adapt a green water-based diet
Find out what your body is allergic too, and avoid those foods – eating them puts more of a stress on the body.
Go organic when possible
Drink at least 100 ounces of water a day
Take an appropriate multivitamin and mineral formula
Consider adding lecithin to your cereal at breakfast
Consider taking the herbal supplement ‘milk thistle’
Now do I expect you to do all of this? Heck no! It took me a few years to be able to adopt this whole list, and there are still times when I have to remind myself to take some proactive steps. This is a process. The idea is to just get started. The faster you begin making a healthy environment for your liver, the healthier you become as well.

The Daily Detox For Better Health
One of the ideas I stress to my clients is the idea of detoxing the body at least once a year; but that comes on the heels of having eaten a clean diet throughout the year as well. What’s a “clean” diet? It’s different based on the outcome you’re trying to produce. For bodybuilders, what I consider to be clean is not feasible for them; because they need huge macro nutrients to help them develop big muscles.
For cyclists, this diet wouldn’t suffice, because they need to burn energy for long periods of time. So when I say “eat clean,” understand that this was designed for everyday life – not a high-performance-based life. However, “everyday life” does not mean sitting down for eight hours at work, coming home to sit on the couch, watching TV for seven hours, going to sleep, and doing it all over again.
An “everyday life” means working out several times a week because you sit down so much at work. It means playing your favorite sport, or physical hobby because you enjoy them, and getting yourself out the house more often to socialize. I believe one of the reasons many Americans are so overweight is because they have become so reluctant to engage in social activities that were part of our social fabric just 30 years ago.

I can easily go off on a rant here, but I’m going to try to keep it focused by keeping with the theme of the article. Trophic Dynamics was developed after I started studying Chimpanzees, and noticed their movement and eating habits. Chimps being the closest link to our past, because their DNA is 97% similar to a humans, eat a water-based diet with meat seen as a special meal. When they do eat meat, they eat it with greens to help it digest better.
What do we, as humans, do? Let me give you an example of the traditional American meal – a hamburger with fries; and a soda. The meat is sitting inside of a bun, so you’re mixing carbs with protein; something Chimps never do. In fact, Chimps never eat bread unless we feed it to them. Bread is a no-go, but I’m not going to try to argue about whether or not eating bread is a good idea.
Instead I’m going to point to the fact that the burger has one single sheet of iceberg lettuce, that has almost no nutritional value, and is also drenched in either ketchup or mayonnaise; or worse – both. In addition, you’re eating this burger with potatoes that are drenched in some form of cooking oil; and you wash all that down with a soda.
Think about the havoc you are unlashing on your organs when you take all these foods, dripping with toxins, into your system. It first has to make it’s way through your digestive system, than it has to be absorbed into your blood, and finally, whatever’s left that is of no value – is sent out through the colon. But if all this is bad to begin with – what exactly is being absorbed into the blood stream?
See this is where disease begins; especially if your inner system is exhausted from trying to separate nutrients from the crap you’re feeding it. As horrible as it sounds, food really is fuel. Although we have so many combinations of food that cause our mouth to water with anticipation, the sad truth is that food needs to be able to fuel our system. If all you do is eat to satisfy your eyes, you leave yourself open to malnutrition, and disease.

Shortly after that, you might have come across several dozen supplements, like bowtrol, that claim to help clean out the colon, help you lose weight, and a bunch of other benefits as well. You then started seeing the diets – and boy are there a slew of them. Finally you make your way to the lowest common denominator – over the counter solutions.
Now I’ve always been a big proponent of “addition” versus “elimination.” In other words, I’m not one of these guys that tells you “don’t use that,” or “only use this.” I mean, even if I was an “expert” – if someone wants to use something, and they are fully educated on the pros and cons, who the heck am I to tell you what to do or not to do?
So if you are going to use something I have an objection to, all I say is to add other components; in addition to whatever it is you have decided to use – does that make sense? I hope it does, because it kind of confused me just writing it!
Natural Colon Cleanse Diets
When it comes to detoxing, my philosophy has always been to begin with the nutrients you are taking into the body – and that’s the diet you currently have. So the next logical question should be, “What is the best all natural colon cleanse diet?”
A diet, any diet, in my opinion, should be mostly made up of green, water-based foods; and I say it this way because there are literally so many variations you can use in a diet, it’s virtually limitless. In order to be able to use any diet you want, having one single principle to follow, while putting that diet together, makes life a whole lot easier.
However, when it comes to detoxing, since you are only going to be on it for a short while, you can change the dynamics up a bit. For a good 2 day, 3 day, and even 7 day colon cleanse, it’s okay to switch to an all-water-based diet that consists mostly of fruits.
For example, you have watermelon, winter melon, avocado, banana, and a lot more fruits that help to detox the colon. For variations sake, people have created specific, detailed diets for each of these fruits, and many more.
The best complete, and gentle, colon cleanse is one that focuses on the meals you have, and the amount of clean water you bring into your system. Unfortunately, the marketing world has fooled many of us into believing things about health that have no basis in science. One of them is the belief that only taking a supplement is the key to a specific result you’re trying to achieve.
You want to lose weight? Here’s a pill or a shake. You want to clean out your kidneys – take this pill. While you’re at it, take this shake too!! You want to clear up all mental fogginess and fatigue – here, take this pill, shake, and powder you put in water. It goes on and on.
Now, like I mentioned earlier, it’s not my job to tell you NOT to do this. However, as a health and fitness enthusiast, someone who has been studying this stuff for over 10 years, I feel I have enough authority to be able to tell you what you should at least be ADDING to the mix.
If you are going to detox with specific products that have all kind of claims attached to them, it really makes sense to add natural colon cleansing diets, foods, and teas as well. A great organic herbal colon detox cleanse tea is green tea, without sugar and all the other stuff we find to throw into tea.
And while we are on the subject of drinking, the ultimate pure liquid colon cleanse drink that will ever exist is good ol’ fashioned H2O. Unfortunately, our water supply is not what it used to be. It’s contaminated with a million and one pollutants (don’t quote me on that stat!), and it’s a good idea to go shopping around for a filtration system that’s going to eliminate as much of that from your water as possible.
Best Colon Detox Cleanses Are based On Diet
A quick aside, I used to drink nothing but bottled water for many, many years. When I learned what was happening with my bottled water, I switched over to filtration systems. Believe me when I tell you, drinking bottled water is a temporary solution – you do not want to be using that as your main source of hydration on a long-term basis.
Anyway, back to what we were covering. We covered everything but colonics. My brother, who has been morbidly obese since I can remember (mind you I’m in my early 30s at the time of this article) is almost as knowledgeable about health as I am. This guy has not been able to get himself to shed the weight, and it’s been a mental thing for the most part – as it is for most people. He has done just about everything under the sun, including colonic irrigation – and he would be the first to tell you not to go down that route.
For a while I was considering it, but I had a hard time dealing with an examination my doctor gave me – and that was a single finger if you get my drift! People scour the interwebs today looking for the best detox diets for weight loss, and what ends up happening, more times than not, is they finish their search even more confused when they first started; and twice as frustrated.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret, and this took me a very long time to figure out – there really no such thing as “the best.” When you type in, “best body cleanse for weight loss” into your favorite search engine, you are seeing results based on other peoples’ perspective.
What is “the best” for me, may not be the best for you. What I think is fantastic, you may think is, “just okay.” The only real way to know which weight loss detox cleanse is the best, is to put them all to the test – your test. Only by you giving them all a try can you figure out which is the best for you.
Now I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but you’re going to find, at least in my limited experience, whatever new mission you undertake, requires much more than you originally had anticipated.
The Best Body Cleanse For Weight Loss
When I first started martial arts, I thought I was going to be learning kicks the first month. That was the reason I joined. I wanted to be able to do a round house kick and show people how badass I was. So what happened? I spent weeks doing boring stretches because my body was so rigid and out of shape. That was followed by weeks of learning simple movements. A few MONTHS later we were starting kicks. You see, everything starts out simple, until you realize there are certain underlying principles to whatever you’re trying to do that you must learn if you hope to be successful long term.

What I find from people that start off looking for “the best” in anything is that they want the quick-fix. They want the best because they honestly believe they can shortcut the process and get the results in half the time simply because they are using the best product, service, strategy, etc.
So people looking for cleansing diets to lose weight, search and discover there are dozens of sub-sets under the label “cleanse.” Before they know it, they find themselves in an ocean of information, lost in a sea of confusion, and begging for an island of clarity.
See, I’m not a very religious person, but I have read somewhere, “in all they getting, get understanding,” which I believe is from Proverbs if I’m not mistaken. If you want to avoid the sea of confusion, take time to learn the fundamentals of that which you want to pursue. If you’re interested in purchasing detox products and weight loss tactics, learn the basic fundamentals of detoxing and weight loss. This will help you to become a much more informed shopper, and get you that much closer to your goal.
For instance, when you have a fundamental understanding of detoxing and how the body burns fat, you can look up a term like “detox tea weight loss,” quickly eliminate the gimmicks and focus instead on the real deals.
So with all that being said, I’m sure you’re still asking the question, “What is the best cleanse for weight loss?” The best one that works for you. I know that sounds real vague, but would you rather I try to sell you on a product that I’m not sure may or may not be the best product for you? Aren’t you tired of being sold stuff that looks good, sounds good, but doesn’t deliver the goods?!
Understand that I am a marketer as well. I sell stuff online all the time. In fact, if you look around the page you’re on right now, you will probably see stuff for sell all over the place. My job is not to tell you what to buy – you make the choice on your own. However what I won’t do is tell you which product is the absolute best because there is no such thing. Secondarily, I feel much better selling stuff to informed people, then I do someone who is just getting started on their journey.
