Detox drinks have become a primary component of health programs being designed all over the country today. The reason behind their growth in popularity is based on science and feel. People like the way they feel when they come off a cleanse, and when they eat a detox diet on an everyday basis.
I’ve heard clients tell me they feel lighter on their feet, now that they’re no longer bogged down with all the food they were used to eating before. Some say they enjoy a greater sense of clarity about their life, their goals, and what they want to do with the rest of their lives.
Still others just like the weight loss that can occur when you begin to drink detox drinks instead of certain meals, at certain times in the day. One of the ways I used to start my day was with a large glass of water. I would follow that up with a protein shake, and a green drink afterward.

I wouldn’t eat again until around one in the afternoon. Mind you, I’m up at six in the morning, so that’s like five hours of grinding without eating anything – do you think my body is burning fat like crazy by the time I’m ready to eat?
You bet it is, and when you can add other elements to the mix like, a proper diet of green whole foods, and a movement program as well – you are going to see weight loss like you’ve never seen before. Another aspect of a detox that also helps with the weight loss is an increase in overall energy.
Once this energy builds up, you cannot help but get moving. This is when a movement program, designed to keep you in action, is going to help those pounds come right off. You can add walking, playing a certain sport or activity, a specialized workout routine – whatever you want – throw into an organized program you can implement throughout the course of a week – and get to it.

From smoothies to hot herbal teas, from fresh juices to structured water, there are a number of detox drinks on the market that can help you achieve your desired outcomes. Here’s the deal – a detox can help you get everything that was outlined in this article, but the main reason you are detoxing is not to give you something, it’s to give your organs something.
You want to give them a chance to rest and revitalize before having to go back to work again. Zig Ziglar, an old school salesperson used to always tell the crowds he was presenting to, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”
The same holds true for you with your inner environment – when you give your organs what they want, and need, it will give you what you want, and also need – vibrancy, aliveness, and raw energy.
Dr. Mehmet Oz has been taking a lashing through social media at the time of this post, and most of it is because he has started to embrace alternative medicine. The majority of the people attacking him, call him a “quack,” simply because he is not following traditional western medicine to the letter.
One of the areas of health he is getting seriously bashed about is detoxing. Western medicine will have you believe that your body can detox itself. The sad facts are that one out of three people today are dying from lifestyle diseases, like cancer and heart disease.
These numbers didn’t exist half a century ago, how could they be at this level so fast? It’s one of the reasons why most people are overweight today – we are following a model of health and medicine that does not work; BUT we’ve been led to believe it does.
Many of our greatest minds, who we revere today, were put threw worse trials than what Dr. Oz is going through today. A little Twitter-hate is nothing like being burned at the stake, or being made to drink poison, for your beliefs like Socrates.
But in time, what was once ridiculed, becomes common knowledge. For example, the Geocentric belief that our world was the center of the universe. Yes, people believed this to be true at one point in time. However, thinkers, like Copernicus, Galileo, and Kepler during the 16th Century proved this to be wrong.
Do you think that was easy? They were faced with death for trying to lead people to the truth. Our culture is not as violent as that, however, the venom they spew onto social media shows our nature to hate what we don’t understand is still inherent in many of us.
I believe, in time, we will accept detoxes, and eating whole foods, as a real diet; the same way we believe buying fast food “makes sense.” To learn more ways to detox, join our newsletter by filling out the form with your name and email, and we’ll give you access to a mini-course outlining 7 key detox principles you can use to cleanse your body today.
