And I think days 1-4 are as close to “Jonesing” as you’re going to get, if you have never been addicted to drugs. If you have no idea what that term is, it’s American slang for the feeling drug addicts get when they need more drugs in their system, and they don’t have any.

The reason is simple – food has become a drug for the western civilization. Conspiracy theorists will say that the food is made in such a way now that forces you to want to go out and buy more of it. So you’re eating more of this food, but because it’s nutrient deficient, you’re getting a double whammy.
You’re getting fatter because you’re eating more, and you’re malnourished because the food you’re eating is essentially – non-foods. Do I believe this? I’m going to say that I do, but I honestly cannot say this is not the case either.
All I can do is observe, and what I’m seeing today is scary. Not only am I seeing more heavy people walking about, but with the case of men, the essence of what it means to be a man seems to be fading away fast.
Once again, this is only what I observe here in the northeast section of the country. Interestingly enough, this is supposed to be the one of “hardest” parts of the country because of gangs, crews, the mafia, etc. I’m not from that world, so I don’t see a lot of that; but what I do so are a bunch of sloppy fat guys who look like they’ve never worked out a day in their lives, and look like they would hand over their wallet if all you did was ask them to.
In fact, the women in this part of the country, are way tougher than the men. A large majority of the women here have no problem telling you how they feel if you step out of line. A guy will let someone totally disrespect him, and not stand up for himself – it’s amazing.

Now you’re probably thinking – “What the heck does all this rambling have to do with a detox?” In a roundabout , help up to develop our natural instincts. If all you do is eat non-food, which is more readily available today than whole food is, you set yourself up to become addicted to that food, and end up becoming a weaker version of your true self in the process.

And believe me, this is coming from someone who was a food junkie – it’s an absolute nightmare. All you think about is food, you’re hungry, you have headaches, and like I mentioned earlier – you get as close to feeling what an addict feels when they need a fix.
Miraculously, after day 3 or 4, it goes away. What replaces it is really strange. You end up clear-headed, and energized. If you’re not careful, this is where most people screw p and fall off the wagon. Because you have more energy, you think, “Great, it’s time for me to start working out!”
Listen to me, until you build a strong enough tolerance, which comes after doing cleanses like this over and over again, you will end up hungrier than you’ve ever been, and you’ll eat something that is not in line with your program – and you will need to start all over again.
Just so you know, you do not come off of a cleanse eating whatever you want. You need to work your way back to a normal diet. Instead of just a salad, you may throw a baked potato in there after coming off a cleanse; or adding beans to your salad – something light, but heavy enough so your body knows it needs to get back into action.
