If you’re in the market for cleansing drinks that help detox your system, then you, literally, have an endless supply available to you. With the internet, you have access to dozens, upon dozens, of recipes for homemade detox drinks.

The first line of drinks revolve around structured waters; and when I talk about structured detox cleansing drinkswaters, I’m not talking about the outlandish claims made by pseudo-scientists that claim the chemical make-up is affected by certain processes, like when it’s ran through a filtration device.

We also add lemon slices as well, and lemon water has a ton of benefits for the body – including liver stimulation, bile production, boost metabolism, raises pH, and on and on. All other smoothies are a mixture of whatever you want them to be. You can have all-fruit smoothies, fruit/veggie smoothies, and smoothies that are a mix of just everything under the sun. Some are very healthy, while others end up being more sugar than anything else.

When you’re creating or purchasing, a smoothie, remember the reason why you’re drinking it in the first place – it’s a cleansing drink. You want to detoxify your system. Detoxing your system has a bunch of benefits, but it can mentally drain you if you’re net ready. And if you’re doing a 14 day detox diet, if can seem quite daunting if you are not mentally prepared for what lies ahead.

The reason is simple – food has become a drug for the western civilization. Conspiracy theorists will say that the food is made in such a way now that forces you to want to go out and buy more of it. In fact, the women in this part of the country, are way tougher than the men. A large majority of the women here have no problem telling you how they feel if you step out of line. A guy will let someone totally disrespect him, and not stand up for himself – it’s amazing.

Now you’re probably thinking – “What the heck does all this rambling have to do with a detox?” In a roundabout , help up to develop our natural instincts. So those are the two choices we always have? Isn’t that a little depressing? Is there any wonder we aren’t able to get ourselves on track with our health in this country?

So when I say your detox is going to a pretty crappy experience, guess what? There’s a very good chance you’re not going to be happy while you’re on it. However, the point about it being worth once you get to the end is spot on.

When you’re done, you’ve reset your system for the next 90 or so days. You can get proactive, and decide to adopt a diet that’s more in line with what a detox entails, or you can go back to the crappy foods you ate beforehand.

Things like headaches, constantly going to the bathroom, constantly passing gas, felling like crap throughout most of the program, bad breath and/or a coated tongue, and last but not least – feeling hungry all the damn time!!

How do you minimize this stuff? My question is, “why would you?” It’s your body trying to get rid of all the crap you have allowed into your body – why would you try to stop any of it from coming out? That’s why you’re doing this detox crap in the first place!

If you’re experiencing headaches, drink more water. If you find yourself going to the bathroom more often – good; drink more water. Passing gas a little more than you would like? Excellent – drink some water, and continue to let it rip.

Bad breath? Drink water – think I’m playing? Check it out before you talk bad about it. If that’s not enough, consider coconut oil pulling. Just search it online, there’s more than enough information out there to drive you nuts about it.

Got a coated tongue? Great, means that that the detox is working. Go out and buy a tongue scraper, and wipe all that nastiness off a few times throughout the day. And if you’re hungry, then consume more of the stuff you are allowed to consume during a cleanse – salads made up of nothing but green vegetables, herbal teas, fresh juices, delicious vegetable soups, and green smoothies.

I know it’s not the perfect menu, but honestly – that’s more than enough to get you through a 3 day, 7 day, or even the pimp daddy of them all – the 21 day cleanse. Remember one thing, a cleanse is not meant to be a “pleasurable experience.”

Whoever sold you on that hustled you lovely. It’s a detox because you’ve been polluted. If you can hear me now, I would’ve said that last sentence with my best Tony Montana voice, because it’s true. For your body to function at a high level until the day you meet your maker, you need to make sure you’re doing all the maintenance work under that hood to keep that engine fired up.

The reality is that most people will never get on a detox at all throughout the span of their life – that’s sad. Sure, you may be able to swim through unharmed, like say a George Burns, who smoked cigars every day until he passed away. That guy was incredibly lucky – most of us aren’t.

On a side note, George also said he worked out daily, by getting down on the floor and doing pushups. We have seven major systems of elimination in our body – the colon, liver, kidneys, lymphatics, lungs, skin, and blood.

Hey, these diseases are not floating around in the sky. These are lifestyle diseases, and how we live, is going to determine just how healthy, or unhealthy, we will be as we begin to age. We’re all going to get old, you can make believe it doesn’t exist, and run the risk of living the last half of your life in a terrible state.

I’m more of a give-me-the-worst-case-best-case-scenario guy. If you tell me what’s ahead, and I actually get to make the choice as to what my chances are, then I’m going to do everything I need to do to put myself in the best positon possible.

Stick to green whole foods most of the time for the best possible cleanse. Fruits tend to be of a sugary-nature, and you can avoid all that by staying with the greens.

Decide on a dummy-proof, boring diet you can follow with very little thought. If you end up buying all these complicated recipes that require pinches of herbs and spice that you need a magic man to provide, you’re going to give yourself more ammunition to drop off the program. Collect a few easy meals, and a few simple smoothies and juices; and get to work.

Try to avoid exercise during your cleanse if you’re a newbie; in other words, if you are new to the world of detoxes. Working out puts a strain on the body, and this is going to cause you to get ravenous. When all you’re eating is salads, and drinking smoothies, and you end up starving yourself – how good are the chances that you’re going to end the day on the program?

The chances dwindle rapidly with each rep and set you add to the workout. The best thing you can do is to walk at a brisk pace throughout your cleanse. This doesn’t put too much of a load on your system, and a few salads can handle that kind of work, so walk it out.

Lastly, make sure to make the cleanse itself a small part of your day. If this detox is one of your main priorities, you give it way too much thought, and could wind up losing it altogether. On the other hand, if you take it too lightly, you could end up eating, or drinking, something by mistake that takes you off the cleanse.

I think you need to keep everything in it’s proper perspective. You’re detoxing to become healthier – period, end of story. It doesn’t have to be the beginning of a new life, or the start of something grand. Sometimes we put too much emphasis on things that don’t deserve them.

You’re detoxing to help get you healthier, and when you get off the cleanse you’re going to continue eating a detox-like diet from that point on. If you say that to yourself, almost matter-of-factly, then it doesn’t become this thing that becomes bigger than what it really is.

I wish you all the lick in the world, and just know, that other have done cleanse for longer periods of time; so if they can do that, you can definitely do this!
