Three Cleansing Drinks That Help Flush Your System

If you’re in the market for cleansing drinks that help detox your system, then you, literally, have an endless supply available to you. With the internet, you have access to dozens, upon dozens, of recipes for homemade detox drinks.

The first line of drinks revolve around structured waters; and when I talk about structured detox cleansing drinkswaters, I’m not talking about the outlandish claims made by pseudo-scientists that claim the chemical make-up is affected by certain processes, like when it’s ran through a filtration device.

Remember, I’m a health and fitness enthusiast, not an expert or scientist. So for us here at www.DetoxCleansingDiet.org, structured waters means enhancing water with minerals and vitamins. For example, we like to add Himalayan sea salt to our filtered water.

We also add lemon slices as well, and lemon water has a ton of benefits for the body – including liver stimulation, bile production, boost metabolism, raises pH, and on and on. Structured water can also include green drinks, which are super-foods that have been broken down to a powder form you can easily mix with water.

The next cleansing drink you can add to the list are fresh juices. These drinks require a juicer to turn your whole food into actual juice. Juicing is awesome, but it can be expensive; and it’s not as nutritious as a smoothie. This means it’s not a good idea to go more than a few days of straight juicing before you go back to eating a regular diet.

Another cleansing drink is tea. There a number of teas available; way too many for me to cover here in this article. I’m also not a big fan of brewed tea, which is why I can only name a few off the top of my head, like Earl’s Grey, and Green tea – my two staples. Green tea in particular has a ton of detoxifying properties that make it, in many people’s minds, the number one detox drink on the market today.

The last cleansing drink is a smoothie. There two kinds, all green smoothies, and traditional smoothies. All green smoothies are exactly what they sound like. A blend of green whole foods, mixed into one, tummy-filling drink that will keep you satisfied for at least two hours before the hunger pangs kick in.

All other smoothies are a mixture of whatever you want them to be. You can have all-fruit smoothies, fruit/veggie smoothies, and smoothies that are a mix of just everything under the sun. Some are very healthy, while others end up being more sugar than anything else.

When you’re creating or purchasing, a smoothie, remember the reason why you’re drinking it in the first place – it’s a cleansing drink. You want to detoxify your system. If you end up buying a sugary drink, that’s masked as a healthy smoothie, you are only making your digestive organs work just as hard as they work with a regular meal.

Cleansing drinks, when used as a part of your normal every day diet, can help you live health in a way you’ve never experienced it before. Especially when its combined with water-based foods as well. These water-based foods help to create a stress-free environment for your inner environment, which for most people, is usually teeming with toxins and pollutants.

I’d hate to think that’s it, but I’ve bought kits, pills, and all the rest, from a bunch of different companies, and only a handful ever provide any kind of education that really helps.

What’s crazy is that I totally get it. I’m a marketer as well. I have stuff I sell online too, but does it always have to be about selling me something? Is it possible you can show me how to think “healthy,” so I can go about it on my own; and if I want to supplement my diet with stuff that your products provide, I’ll visit your store first before going to anyone else?

Cleansing the kidney and liver is vital to long term vibrancy. I’m not going to say it’s vital to long-term health, because I’ve seen people absolutely abuse their bodies, and they died at 95 – how do you explain that?

On the other hand, that same person spent the last ten years of their life existing – not living. You can be alive, and not be living anymore. See, when I die I want to make sure that I fired every bullet I had in my gun. I want my tank on empty – can I throw anymore horrible metaphors into this paragraph?

In other words, I want to be that old guy you see still showing up to the gym, or the adult monkey bars, and getting a full workout – even in my 90s. That to me is living healthy and vibrant. If you want to live that way, I think it’s critical that you take the time to take extra care of what’s underneath the hood – your internal organs.

It’s, essentially, a water-based diet. Foods that contain more water than anything else. Foods like fruits and vegetables if you were trying to figure out what the heck I was talking about.

When you eat more of these foods, and less of the concentrated crap we throw into our systems on a daily basis, you take pressure off the systems of elimination we each have working within us. When these systems can work the way they were designed to, the gaining process follows it’s natural timeline.

Did you know there were warrior kings that ruled in days past? A warrior king was a guy who was in his forties and fifties, sometimes it was even into their sixties, and in those days that was considered old; and this guy would lead his army in battles.

Get a guy in his sixties to participate in a game of tag football, or even something more laid back like baseball – forget it, it’s not happening. Why? Because by the time most of us get to forty years old, we’re broken down, due to all the pressure we put on our bodies, both internally and externally.

Working on both is well beyond the scope of this article, but if you can just start on what you eat, and think about how much of your diet is made up of these water-based foods, you’ll be on your way. Once you have that firmly in place, and you’re eating a diet made up of about 60-70% water-based foods on a regular basis, you can start thinking about supplementing that with all the other products available online today.

One of the best lines I ever heard was from a movie titled, “Usual Suspects.” In it a character by the name of Kaizer Soze, who is played by Kevin Spacey, says “the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist.”

Well, the greatest trick the marketing world ever did was make the American public believe it needed supplements, cleansing kits, medication, exercise equipment, and a million other things, to be healthy and fit.

When it comes to cleansing the liver, of course you can buy products that help with the process; and I’m not here saying they don’t work, but they should only be used after all other natural options have been exhausted first.

Once again, this is my personal philosophy, and it’s how I believe people should go about doing a detox cleanse of any kind. Once you have followed through on all those options, then you can bring in additional products to help make sure the job is really getting done.

So what are some of the natural ways to cleanse liver issues away? First things first – get rid of crap that does more harm to the liver than good. For example, caffeine and alcohol depot toxins in your liver when consumed in large quantities.

I never drank coffee, and I’m never going to start. I don’t like the way it tastes, so it’s not my cup of tea (pun intended.) However, my mother, and brother, drink the stuff like it’s going out of style, so I understand where a coffee-lover is coming from.

There are some steps you can take to reduce the damage coffee does to the liver. First off, stop drinking the stuff from high-traffic commercial places like Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks. And I say this for one reason, and one reason only – you don’t know how the coffee was made.

See, my brother is a java junkie, so he found a way to minimize the damage so he could keep drinking it. First of all you want to get the highest grade bean possible. That means if you can get it organic – you should.

Next, you want to ground the beans up with a coffee grinder, and brew the coffee within fifteen minutes of grinding the beans. This is coffee at it’s freshest. You want to avoid using commercial sugar, and stick organic alternatives; and avoid adding commercial milk, or creamers, as well.

When you drink fresh coffee like this, you reduce the amount of damage it does on the liver – but do not be mistaken; caffeine does not do a body “good.” Do your best to start reducing the amount of caffeine you take into your system on a regular basis.

The next culprit you want to avoid is alcohol; and there has been so much research done on it, with so much information available about it, it would be a waste of my time even trying to compete with the doctors and experts. Find your favorite search engine, and just search the term “alcohol effect on the liver,” and watch the show begin. You want to reduce the amount of alcohol you drink, but realistically – you want to work on getting it out of your life for the rest of your natural life.

After you get rid of those two jokers, you want to start flooding your system with clean water. Something that is readily available for us to drink, is hardly consumed by the majority of folks here in the U.S. I was watching a podcast with one of my favorite comedians interviewing someone, and the lady being interviewed is talking about her problems with diabetes as she pounds down a liter of Coca-Cola.

See, that to me is insane; but she doesn’t see it – so to her it’s fine. If she really knew had bad that was to her system, in general, never mind the fact that she already has diabetes, I believe she would never touch the stuff.

The amount of water you want to drink is entirely up to you. I’ll tell you what I do. I’m 165 lbs. on a regular basis. Sometimes I go up when I start lifting heavy, other times I fall down into 50s when I start playing basketball on a regular basis – but on the whole, you can catch at 165 for the most part. I drink half that amount in ounces, which would be about 80 ounces of water a day. In other words, a little more than half a gallon of water a day.

And because our water pipes have been around for 100 years, and longer, at certain places in the city I live in, I need to make sure that water is filtered. I believe everyone drinking from the tap should do the same. Whether you drink well water, or your water is tapped into a city line – throw on a filter, and get to drinking.

Next you want to add lemon to your water and tea. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you – start drinking tea instead of coffee if you can. In fact, you probably want to make it green tea, without sugar, which has antioxidants in it that help increase the liver’s ability to function properly. The reason you want to use lemon in this tea, and in your water is because it has agents that help the liver produce bile, and prevent the buildup of gallstones.

Lastly, you want to begin adopting a detox diet on a normal basis. Once or twice a week, you may want to substitute a meal for a green smoothie. You want to make sure that 60% of your overall diet is water-based, meaning is made up of fruits and vegetables. You want to eat in a way that resembles the diet of our cousins, the primates.

I know, sounds nutty. I understand, but when you realize that our genetic makeup is almost identical to them – you start to notice how we’re different, and yet, how we are exactly the same. They do not have our ability to think, and reason – but we don’t have their muscle density, bone structure, and strength. Everything else is basically the same.

They have a chain of command that looks the same as we find in our world. Every pack is dominated by an alpha, pretty much the same way we live in our own society. And it’s the same with both men and women – there is one person that dominates, while the rest just follow his or her lead.

However, the way they eat is something we almost never take a look at; and align with our own eating behavior. Primates eat a diet made up mostly of water-based foods, but every now and again they eat meat – and that’s pretty much the same way I believe we should eat as well.

Eat fruits and veggies for the most part, with veggies making up the largest part of your water-based foods; which means making fish, fowl, or meat a smaller part of your plate – with carbs being the smallest.

When you can adopt these simple steps into your life, you help your liver function at a high level, and you give yourself the best chance to live a much healthier and, I believe, happier life.

Now that we cleared that up, you want to make sure you eat only water-based foods leading up to your fast – at least three days before you start. You also want to make a good portion of those foods organic apples – and yes, eat the skin.

Drink two tablespoons of olive oil on the night before the fast, which helps with digestion, and you want to break the fast with fresh orange juice. You follow this routine for three months in a row, and you are detoxed for the year. Understand this is just one way to detox. There are many more, and each provides it’s own unique set of benefits.

Detoxing the body is important, for a whole host of reasons. The easiest way to think about it is to see your body as your car. If you aren’t maintaining your car properly, then it’s going to break down, and you may need to buy a whole new car altogether. Well, you don’t get the same chances with your body.
